FIFA bans CSKA Sofia from registering new players

FIFA has banned CSKA Sofia from registering new players. The reason is a decision of the Swiss Supreme Court that rejected the Bulgarian football club's appeal against the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS). At the end of last year, the CAS ruled that CSKA owed over 500,000 euros to its former player Youness Bengelloun. Due to the veto, CSKA Sofia cannot register the recently recruited Colombian Brayan Moreno and Brazilian Maurício Garcez. The sanction will be lifted when the Bulgarian club pays the money to Bengelloun.
