A working group is to decide whether municipalities will receive compensations for the soaring electricity prices.

“Money can be allocated after the public procurement contracts are checked in each municipality that requests money of the state,” Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said. “There will be probes whether lack of money isn’t a function of bad practices.”

Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov on his part stated that there will be probes into whether the municipalities have carried out the street lighting energy efficiency programmes.
