Representatives of the National Association of Municipalities and the Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev have agreed on additional compensation for the municipalities due to the high electricity bills, the chairman of the association Daniel Panov told BNR.

The bills for the last three months of last year were 225% higher than in the same period in 2020. Compensation is expected to be received in February, but it will not be enough. That is why it was agreed at the meeting that a mechanism needs to be found to cover the difference, Panov explained.
