"Today, the German Chancellor is paying a visit to Kyiv. Tomorrow, the Chancellor will visit Moscow. The situation in Ukraine is extremely serious", the Ambassador of Germany to Bulgaria Christoph Eichhorn said for the BNR.

"The German Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Moscow and said that more than 100,000 Russian soldiers with tanks and artillery were deployed near the border with Ukraine. There is no logical reason for this", said Ambassador Eichhorn.

"We need to focus on three main things - solidarity, dialogue towards de-escalation and strength in deterring the threat. This applies to everyone in the EU, NATO, Germany and Bulgaria. I don't know whether we are on the brink of war, but the situation is extremely serious," Ambassador Eichhorn said.
