There has been an increased interest in book donations, the President of the Bulgarian Book Association Desislava Alexieva said for BGNES on the occasion of the International Book Giving Day, marked on February 14.

In Desislava Alexieva's words, the number of companies, organizations, bookstores and publishing houses participating in the initiative has increased. She called on Bulgarians to donate books to the libraries near them and to the school libraries, whose number decreased by one-third in the past 25 years. According to Desislava Alexieva, people should donate books published after 2016, not old books which are part of their personal library.
