Premier Petkov’s visit to Brussels has begun. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister is participating at the meeting of the members of the European Council and the European Union-African Union Summit.

Before the start of the forum, Premier Kiril Petkov met with the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi. Premier Pekov briefed Commissioner Varhelyi on the concrete results achieved in just a few days thanks to the new dialogue between Bulgaria and North Macedonia. The results, not the deadlines, are key to the bilateral dialogue, Premier Kiril Petkov stressed and expressed hope that enhanced cooperation in various sectors would yield mutually-acceptable political decisions.

In a comment on Ukraine, Kiril Petkov told reporters that the diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tension will continue. The Bulgarian Premier also held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, with a focus on energy.
