Bulgaria reports sharp increase in Covid-19 hospitalizations

2,641 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 18,296 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 14.4% of the tests have returned positive results. 72.5% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated.

The number of active cases of coronavirus infection have decreased with 812 to 214,709. 321 patients have been admitted to hospitals in the past day. Almost 83% of them was not inoculated against Covid-19. 3,652 patients are being treated in hospital, as 461 of them are in intensive care units.

56 people with established coronavirus infection have died in the past 24 hours. 52 of them were not immunized. 3,397 have been reported cured.

2,322 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday.
