The Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) has been hooked up to the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline (TAP). The tie-in was completed with two golden welds, connecting a gas metering station at Komotini with TAP's existing infrastructure.
The successful connection of the infrastructure of the two energy projects is key to the completion of the next stage and to the commercial launch of the IGB which was planned for later this year. This was announced by the joint investment company which is building the interconnector.
IGB connects Bulgaria to the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline which allows natural gas to be transported from Azerbaijan via Greece to Italy and the South-East European region.
