Speculations about naval mines floating in the Black Sea have further hampered the summer tourist season, chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Tourism Ilin Dimitrov told Radio Varna.

"It was a purely hybrid news that harmed  the upcoming season. The information caused mass cancellations of bookings from Germany. At the same time we are working very actively to promote Bulgaria as a safe and secure destination," Dimitrov said.

Regular tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will not come if the war continues. The only tourists we can count on are those arriving by car from neighbouring countries, because fuel prices will make charter flights more expensive, Dimitrov said.
