Bulgaria’s Ombudsman Diana Kovacheva told the National Asembly Committee on Education and Science that she had recommended that this country‘s Minister of Education provided all Bulgarian schools with child psychologists due to the consequences of the Covid pandemic. Currently, half of the schools in Bulgaria lack such specialists.
According to Ombudsman Kovacheva, the long online learning has had a negative impact on the child's psyche and has led to anxiety, increased aggression, low motivation and loss of social skills. On the other hand, teachers complain that they feel exhausted, because they work more than eight hours a day and check homeworks in the evening. "Unfortunately, the past two years, which have been marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, have affected the quality of education", Diana Kovacheva noted.
