“The Bulgarian Socialist Party will continue its efforts to persuade its coalition partners from There Is Such a People and We Continue the Change to withdraw their candidates for governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, and to nominate a single candidacy,” Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP leader Korneliya Ninova said after the meeting of the BSP National Council. According to Ninova, this post should be filled by someone with a great deal of experience, not an MP.
“The BSP categorically opposes the export of weapons to Ukraine,” she said further, reiterating the position of the socialists. Korneliya Ninova pointed out that the BSP will not allow any change of position on North Macedonia – that the country’s EU accession negotiations must start after the goodneighbour agreement with Bulgaria has been fulfilled. The BSP leader also stated her support for an update of the budget because of different policies, among them setting a threshold on the prices of energy carriers and some foods.
