Protests by road construction companies blocked major roadways throughout the country. In Sofia, traffic in front of parliament building and the Council of Ministers was temporarily blocked. The protesters chanted “Resign!” and “Pay us now!” as they demanded 100% of the payment for the work done in 2021.

The remainder of this money will only be paid out after the parliamentary committee reviews how many of the activities declared by the companies have actually been completed, the prime minister said.
