In the approved version of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan there is a commitment to reduce carbon emissions, but there is no date and year for the closure of the Thermal power plants.

"The most important thing for Bulgaria is to have an independent energy sector," Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said, quoted by BNR Stara Zagora. Kiril Petkov was in Radnevo, where he and Finance Minister Assen Vassilev met with workers at Maritsa East Mines.

At the meeting the workers alarmed that the war in Ukraine has led to problems with the supply of metals and spare parts for the energy complex, Bulgarian Telegraph Agency reports.
