A national pilgrimage festival takes place at the historical site Oborishte

A national pilgrimage festival will take place today at the historical site Oborishte near the town of Panagyurishte on the occasion of the 146th anniversary of the April Uprising. This is the final part of the celebrations dedicated to the April Uprising.

Traditionally, hundreds of Bulgarians are expected to go to the Memorial Complex entitled Aprilitsi, which was built in honor of the heroes of the April Uprising of 1876. This was the place where the first Bulgarian MPs took the fateful decision to rebel against the Ottoman Empire. At 11 am, priests are to pray for the health and well-being of the Bulgarian people, the BNR’s correspondent in Pazardzhik Nevena Petrova informed.
