Energy Ministers from European Union countries are expected to hold emergency talks on May 2 after Russia’s Gazprom halted gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland last week.

The Energy Ministers will study the possibilities for additional action regarding the security of gas supply and gas transit in the coming weeks and months, the correspondent of the Bulgarian National Radio in Brussels Angelina Piskova reported.

Several days ago, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev assured that Bulgaria will not face gas shortage and added that Bulgaria was working with the EU to have an even lower price than that of Gazprom.
