Greek reconnaissance aircraft to patrol the Black Sea

A Greek military force will patrol the Black Sea with a reconnaissance aircraft. The aircraft will be maintained at the Bulgarian air base Bezmer, Bulgaria’s MPs voted at first reading.

The arrival of the Allied aircraft is in application of an agreement between the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and the Greek Defense Ministry signed in 2021. This will boost NATO's deterrence and defense potential in the Black Sea. No MPs voted against, despite the fierce rhetoric by the smallest opposition party “Vazrazhdane”.
