Weather forecast for Bulgaria for 17 May 2022

Intense rainfall expected in Bulgaria on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will range from 12 to 18 °C, in the capital Sofia - 15 °C. During the day, rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in many places. A yellow code alert has been announced for dangerous precipitation for the whole country, and for the districts of Smolyan, Kardzhali and Plovdiv the alert is orange. 

Maximum temperatures in the eastern parts will be from 15-16 °c, for the rest of the country - up to 24-25 °C. In Sofia daytime highs will be around 19 °C.

It will be cloudy, windy and rainy along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The air temperatures will be at 13-16 °C, the sea water temperature at 15-16 °C. 

It will also be rainy over the mountains with thunderstorms. Snowfall is expected on the highest peaks. The temperatures at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be 13 °C, at 2,000 meters to 6 °C.

On Thursday it will rain only over Eastern Bulgaria.
