"On May 24, we are all just Bulgarians," said President Rumen Radev in a greeting on the occasion of the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture, and Slavic letters.
"Today there are seven million Bulgarians in Bulgaria. Millions of others are outside the Fatherland. But there is always an invisible homeland that everyone takes with them wherever they go. This is the Bulgarian language," Rumen Radev said.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Kiril Petkov welcomed the holiday together with the students from the 7th Sofia School "Sveti Sedmochislenizi". In his greeting, he stressed that Cyril and Methodius bequeathed to Bulgaria the greatest and most valuable gift - writing, "through which we leave the brightest trace in world history."

Until May 25, the holy relics of the equal-to-the-apostles Cyril and Methodius are on display in the Metropolitan Church of St. Nedelya in Sofia. The relics were brought from the Mount Athos monastery Esfigmen where they are kept.
