The automobile industry is the fastest growing sector in Bulgaria and accounts for 10-12% of the country's GDP. This was announced by President Rumen Radev during the international conference "Automotive and Mobility Forum" in Sofia.

The president pointed out that 9 out of 10 cars manufactured in Europe have components made in Bulgaria, and 80% of the sensors of cars sold in Europe are manufactured by Bulgarian-based facilities.

"Bulgaria, with a population of 7 million, competes successfully with leading powers such as the US, Russia, China, and wins first prizes in all international Olympiads in natural sciences," Radev said and, addressing investors, stressed that this is an indicator of the sustainability of investment in Bulgaria.
