Business is concerned about Bulgaria's natural gas supply

Businesses have queried the government on the progress of the natural gas supply negotiations and whether supplies are guaranteed beyond the end of June.

In a letter to Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) noted that neither the AOBE nor the public have so far been informed whether any long-term agreements for natural gas supply have been signed with suppliers alternative to Gazprom.

In an interview with BNT, the energy regulator's chairman Stanislav Todorov said that no contract for the supply of US LNG had yet been signed. If the Underground Gas Storage in Chiren is not filled 100% and the new gas Interconnector Greece–Bulgaria does not work, there is a risk for consumers, Todorov explained.
