At the opening ceremony, Vice President Iliana Iotova stated that Slav-Bulgarian History marks the awakening of the Bulgarian people, which, thanks to its Christian Orthodox faith, the awareness of its origin and the Bulgarian language, has survived through the centuries of oppression.
