Bulgaria reports 8 Covid-related deaths, almost 10% positivity rate

254is the number of new Covid-19 cases out of 2,601 tests performed in the country in the past day, a positivity rate of just under 10%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 59% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated.

The highest number of new coronavirus infections is in Sofia - 75, in Varna – 39, and in Plovdiv – 22. 

309 patients are being treated in hospital, 26 of them in intensive care. 72% of the 47 new hospital admissions are among the unvaccinated.

Eight patients have died, none of them were vaccinated. 332 are reported as recovered. The number of active cases is 61,183.

447 doses of vaccine against coronavirus have been administered in the past 24 hours. 2,061,364 people in the country have completed their vaccination cycle, 763 402  have taken a booster shot.
