"We Continue the Change", "Democratic Bulgaria" and BSP approve six-month governance and legislative programme

The coalition council of "We Continue the Change", "Democratic Bulgaria" and the Bulgarian Socialist Perty (BSP) adopted a six-month governance and legislative programme of the prospective cabinet headed by Assen Vassilev.

A lineup and a composition of the government have not yet been discussed, said outgoing Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev. In his words, this matter will be addresses when a majority of 121 MPs is secured. Assen Vassilev has until July 8 to fulfill the first cabinet-forming mandate.

Block tariffs for electricity and heating and increased social spending are among the priorities of the future cabinet. Most of the measures will be introduced with the 2023 state budget. The prospective cabinet is planning to elect a new National Assembly speaker by July 22 is to have a new Parliament speaker and pass a bill on the anti-mafia commission’s reform.
