In Komotini, Greece, Prime Ministers Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Kiril Petkov attended the inauguration of the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector - IGB. Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov also participated in the ceremony.
"This moment is important for the Balkans and for Europe because it is not just the launch of a pipeline, but of a project that brings Greece and Bulgaria closer together," Mitsotakis said.

The 182-km-long pipe connecting the two countries' gas networks has a design capacity of up to 3 billion cu m/year, which may be increased to 5 billion cu m/year. The facility is also linked to the future Alexandroupolis gas terminal, of which Bulgaria owns 20%.
