The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is investigating Ministry of Internal Affairs officials in connection with the car accident caused by Georgi Semerdzhiev, in which he killed two young women in a central Sofia junction with his jeep. After analyzing the materials in the case, the supervising prosecutor found evidence of a possible violation of their official duties, including patronage of the accused.

It will be checked whether the uniformed officers used their work at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to obtain benefits for themselves or others, as well as whether they kept silent about other alleged violations or crimes committed by Georgi Semerdzhiev.

Based on the collected evidence, it will be assessed whether pre-trial proceedings should be instituted against them.
