A unique and patented indicator for temperature measurement was presented at the University Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov in Burgas.

The device, which is 0.1°С accurate, was developed by Bulgarian medical specialists and monitors the body temperature of children and adults around the clock, without using mercury, spirit or electronic thermometers. It functions by single application of a thermochromic indicator. The smear measures the body temperature immediately and in real time by a change of colour of the application and functions for up to 48 hours.

The product was developed on the basis of a microencapsulated pigment, which is soluble in a non-aqueous bioenvironment, and is easy to wipe off using a dry cloth or washed off with water, BGNES reports.
