A 9-year old boy with multiple injuries has been airlifted from Burgas to Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia by a Spartan aircraft. The boy got stuck inside the hydraulic drum of a beach cleaning machine on the central beach in Sozopol.
“Two children, aged 9 and 10 ran after the machine, and upon reaching the back of it, the younger boy climbed onto the tractor device for about 2-3 seconds, after which he lost his balance and fell into the device itself. You can see that in a video from the incident,” said the beach’s concessionaire Kiril Spasov. The driver stopped the cleaning machine and using whatever he had at hand, managed to extract the boy and then called an ambulance, Kiril Spasov said further.
The hospital in Burgas, where the boy was initially admitted, said he had life-threatening head and spine injuries.
The driver of the cleaning machine has been detained for 24 hours, witnesses are also being questioned. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
