Ivan Ivanov returns as an interim chairman of Bulgaria's energy watchdog

Following a decision of Bulgaria’s National Assembly, the former head of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Ivan Ivanov will perform the duty of EWRC Chairman until the new chairman takes office. Ivan Ivanov has returned as an interim chairman of the energy watchdog, because the Constitutional Court found unconstitutional the election of Stanislav Todorov as chairman of EWRC.

The MPs from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) boycotted the election of Ivan Ivanov. The leader of BSP, Kornelia Ninova, accused President Rumen Radev of being part of the group that overthrew the current government which nominated Stanislav Todorov for EWRC Chairman.

At a working breakfast at Boyana residence, outgoing Premier Kiril Petkov said goodbye to the Ambassadors of the EU, NATO, Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, thanking them for working together.
