President Rumen Radev awarded David Harris, CEO of the American Jewish Committee, the Badge of Honour of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. At the ceremony Rumen Radev stated that during World War 2, Bulgaria had saved almost 50,000 Bulgarian Jews. “The stories and the destinies of the people rescued must not be forgotten because this is a story of bloodless heroism, it is a lesson in humanity and kindness,” the president said and added that it is this heroism that is now helping us stand up to all evil and uphold democratic values.
