Wawrinka will play at Sofia Open 2022 with a "wild card"

The holder of 3 Grand Slam titles and 16 more in ATP tournaments, Stan Wawrinka, will play at Sofia Open 2022, the organizers announced. The ATP 250 category tournament starts on September 25. The Swiss tennis star will come with a "wild card" for the main draw of the seventh edition of the tournament in Sofia.

The strongest Bulgarian tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, also won in the men's doubles at the ATP 1000 tournament in Montreal. Together with Russian Andrey Rublev, they eliminated Australians Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell 3:6, 6:2, 10-8. In the round of 16 in Canada, Dimitrov and Rublev will play against the runners-up Marcel Granollers (Spain) and Horacio Zeballos (Argentina).

On the evening of August 10, Dimitrov will also play a match versus Australian Alex de Minaur.
