One in three Bulgarians have diffculties paying their utility bills

Almost one in three Bulgarians have diffculties paying their bills, the BNT reports, quoting a survey of Eurofound, conducted in the spring of 2022. According to the survey, people from the 27 Member States have difficulties paying their bills. 

27% of Bulgarians are already unable to pay their bills. The number of EU citizens who report being behind with their utility bills has increased with 5% in just two years. This trend is expected to worsen due to rising energy prices. Rents in Bulgaria have risen considerably due to inflation.
