Action taken to curb illegal human trafficking

After the incident from early this morning when a bus with migrants ploughed into a police car, killing two police officers in Burgas, border security is going to be enhanced. Talking to Nova TV, caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov stated that more than 300 people would be dispatched to the country’s borders to ease migratory pressure, and that drones wouldl be used for surveillance.

Caretaker Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev who arrived on the scene of the incident in Burgas, stated on his part that border security would be enhanced. Information that people from the Interior Ministry system are involved the schemes for trafficking migrants across the border will be investigated. Key measures for preventing such instances, which have been growing in number of late, have been mapped out. The measures concern vehicles and the people engaged in such activity, as well as Interior Ministry employees who are incapable of withstanding the pressure, or who are involved in some way in the trafficking of migrants across the border.
