“A war is being raged on the roads of Bulgaria, which claims as many lives as a local armed conflict. And nobody cares”, Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said at the annual conference entitled “Safe Road Infrastructure” held in the town of Hisarya.

“There is such an interest only when a serious road traffic accident occurs and the interest is related to minimizing the media damage”. Ivan Genev further said. In his view, there should be a state policy to address this issue. “Whether we call it a roadmap, a programme, you name it, there should be some kind of a long term strategy, which should be adopted by the relevant state institutions”, Ivan Geshev noted in his speech.
