Bulgaria’s team scored its first victory in this year’s UEFA Nations League tournament after winning versus the unpretentious team of Gibraltar by 5-1.

This result means the Bulgarian squad is keeping its position in League C of the tournament, while Gibraltar drops down to the level below. Bulgaria now has 6 points, just 1 behind the second team in the group – North Macedonia. The next match in Skopje will be a direct clash for the second position, after the number one team – Georgia.

The match was the debut for the new national coach of Bulgaria Mladen Krstajic. In a bid to give the national team a facelift, the national coach from Serbia gave many newcomers a chance to play in the match against Gibraltar.
