78% of Bulgarians expect financial difficulties in 2023, indicate data of a national survey on economic attitudes, conducted by Research Center Trend. 77% of the respondents buy less household goods due to high prices. 73% buy less clothes. 56% buy less food because it is very expensive. 43% of the polled are afraid they may lose their jobs. 76% of the respondents are worried about paying their utility bills during the winter season.
According to 55% of Bulgarians, the economic situation in the country will deteriorate. 29% expect no change. Only 11% of the polled expect an improvement in the economic situation. The optimists are mostly young and highly educated people with good jobs and high incomes.
