Bulgaria celebrates 50 years as a as a spacefaring nation

Today the Institute for Space Research and Technology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bulgaria as a "Space Nation". President Rumen Radev will participate in the event.

On 1 December 1972, the first Bulgarian scientific instrument Pribor-1 (P-1), created by Bulgarian scientists and specialists, was sent into space. Thanks to the data it sent to Earth, Bulgaria was recognised as a spacefaring nation.
