Caretaker government approves acquisition of another 8 F-16 fighter aircraft

At today’s sitting, the Bulgarian Council of Ministers adopted a decision on approving the draft contract for the acquisition of another eight F-16C/D Block 70 fighter aircraft, ammunition, training and maintenance equipment.

The caretaker Minister of Defence is authorized to sign the agreements, after the National Assembly approves an investment expenditure project for the acquisition of a new type of combat aircraft, stage two. Under the Constitution, the agreements are subject to subsequent ratification by the National Assembly.
