Turkey mobilizes security forces after incident on the Bulgarian-Turkish border

The Embassy of Turkey in Bulgaria published an official position after the incident on the Bulgarian-Turkish border in which the 30-year-old border police officer Petar Bachvarov was shot dead, BNT reported. The Turkish embassy reports that the Minister of Interior, Süleyman Soylu, has offered his condolences to his Bulgarian counterpart, Ivan Demerdzhiev. Additional teams were immediately sent to the border to ensure an increased presence. "Our security forces were mobilized in order to find the perpetrators immediately," it was reported.
