Prosecutor's Office will prioritize investigation of drug distribution and production

Distribution of drugs near schools and the number of serious accidents caused by drivers under the influence of drugs threaten our national security and worry the citizens, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev said, commenting on the ongoing police operation "White" against the distribution and production of drugs in the country.

Geshev announced that the prosecutor's office has organized its work in a way aimed at rapid investigation of cases, in which the Ministry of Internal Affairs has gathered enough evidence to bring charges. Ivan Geshev pointed out the alarming rise in the sale of narcotic drugs to minors and added that he ordered an analysis of pre-trial proceedings related to the distribution of narcotic substances.
