Rumen Radev and Ursula von der Leyen discuss Bulgaria’s accession in Schengen

Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, with a focus on Bulgaria's accession in Schengen and the measures aimed to speed up the process. Rumen Radev expressed his expectation that Bulgaria’s achievements will be respected by all partners in the EU and that the country will join Schengen in 2023.

The issue will also be discussed at the forthcoming European Council meeting in Brussels.
