Photo: BGNES

Despite warmer weather and the lack of snow, Bansko has officially opened the new ski season. Some of the events in the program, including the "Enter the Champion's Team" competition, were canceled. The cable car works but the other lifts do not. There are no open ski runs.

Despite the warmer weather, the first tourists have already arrived in the resort and 80% of the beds are occupied. Three-time Olympic champion in skiing, Maria Höfl-Riesch, was present at the opening today.
