The minimum wage will increase on January 1, 2023, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said and put an end to the dispute between ministers from the caretaker government and MPs on the issue. "Populist battles have been fought from the Parliamentary rostrum. Meanwhile, the caretaker cabinet has already solved this issue. The minimum wage will increase from January 1", President Radev said.

Earlier, Deputy Premier and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov proposed that the minimum monthly salary be set at EUR 398.81, which is EUR 5.11 more than initially planned.
