Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to summon the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bulgaria to a meeting. "In connection with the statement of the Russian Interior Ministry that the Kremlin has put investigative journalist Christo Grozev on its wanted list, we would like to inform you that the Ambassador of Russia to Sofia, Eleonora Mitrofanova, has been summoned to a meeting at the Foreign Ministry on the first working day after the holidays", Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Most parliamentary parties in Bulgaria, except for "Vazrazhdane" and the Bulgarian Socialist Party, demanded that the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bulgaria explain on what grounds Moscow is threatening the fundamental civil rights and freedoms of the internationally acclaimed investigative journalist, who works for Bellingcat.
