Due to the high incidence of influenza, a flu epidemic is expected to be declared in the regions of Pazardzhik, Varna, Shumen and Burgas.

At the moment, there is no need for a flu vacation for students on a national scale, Health Minister Asen Medzhidiev said. He added that currently there was no flu epidemic peak. There may be a peak in 10-15 days, so anti-influenza measures will be taken and applied regionally. The minister pointed out that this is "an ordinary flu wave" and therefore no special measures are required. "Parents and the population should avoid the gatherings of many people, avoid visits to malls, cinemas and places where there is a chance of infection," Medzhidiev said.
