Bulgaria’s Caretaker Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov pays visit to the United States

Bulgaria’s Caretaker Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov obtained an assurance from the U.S. Coordinator on Global Antti-Corruption Richard Nephew that the United States continue to support Bulgaria's efforts to implement the necessary reforms in the area of the rule of law.

Krum Zarkov and Richard Nephew discussed the current challenges faced by Bulgaria and the region, and the opportunities to cooperate with the United States to overcome them. Krum Zarkov is taking part at the Summit for Democracy initiated by the U.S President. He is participating in the contact group preparing the second Summit for Democracy that whill take place on March 29 and 30, 2023. Minister Zarkov is expected to visit the United States Department of State and the U.S. Department of Justice.
