Von der Leyen: Bulgarian-Turkish border can be strengthened with EU funds

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen identified the control of the Bulgarian-Turkish border as the most urgent task in relation to the strengthening of the EU's land borders. She made the remarks at the European Parliament in Brussels during a debate on migration and asylum for refugees. 
In her words, migration is a European problem that should be solved with European funds, BNR correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova reports. "We can strengthen the border between Bulgaria and Turkey with management capabilities," European Commission president Von der Leyen told MEPs.
"We can also provide infrastructure and equipment like drones and radar and other means of surveillance, as we have done in recent years in Romania, Spain, Greece and Poland. We can also increase the presence of FRONTEX," Von der Leyen said.
