Bulgaria sends rescue teams to Türkiye

Two Spartan aircraft have flown to Türkiye to fly rescue teams, Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence announced. The Municipality of Sofia is planning to send 15 people and equipment.

No Bulgarians reported injured after the devastating earthquake in Southeastern Türkiye

A devastating earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, and 6 aftershocks, caused widespread destruction in Southeastern Türkiye. The death toll across Türkiye and Syria stands at more than 300, with nearly 2,000 reported injured. 

Tremors were felt in Israel, Cyprus and Egypt. Earthquakes were also registered in Bulgaria, Romania and Albania

Italian authorities have issued a tsunami alert after the massive earthquake, seismologist Plamena Raykova from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said.
