The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sofia has opened a book of condolences in connection with the devastating earthquake that claimed thousands of lives. The Ambassadors of Denmark and Ukraine to Bulgaria were the first to write in the book of condolences, the BNR’s reporter Marta Mladenova informed. The flag in front of the embassy is flying at half-mast.

The Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Serbia, South Korea, Belgium, Spain and other countries have already expressed their sympathy with Türkiye in the book of condolences. "Humanity has no borders. It knows no ethnic or religious divisions. We are all human beings, we have a need to be together," wrote Grand Mufti Mustafa Hadji. He also offered his condolences to the people of Türkiye and to those who have lost their loved ones.
