Bulgaria cannot afford European sanctions against Russia in nuclear energy sphere

Bulgaria cannot accept possible European sanctions against Russia in the field of nuclear energy, because they will directly affect the country’s energy sector.

Before the extraordinary meeting of the European Council, which is being held today and tomorrow in Brussels, President Rumen Radev pointed out that if such sanctions were to be imposed, Bulgaria would impose a veto, BNR correspondent in Brussels reported. "We consider all the areas in which this can happen, but we cannot accept it when our interests are threatened," the head of state said.
