President Rumen Radev, who attended the ceremony at the monument to Vasil Levski marking the 150th death anniversary of the national hero, started his speech with the following words of the Apostle of Freedom: "The path you have to walk does not end with my death".
"A century and a half separates us from the day when the Apostle of Bulgarian freedom was hanged. Over those 150 years Bulgaria has experienced a lot - upsurge, terror, triumphs and disasters, but the Bulgarians' reverence for Vasil Levski has remained sacred and his words have outlived the ages. The pure and holy republic is far away, but fraternity is not uncommon", President Radev said referring to the assistance provided to Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquake.
"We are faced by devastating calamities. They change us, but we have the strength to overcome them. Only with sense and solidarity can we get our country through the crisis and the fire of war. Only united before the national flag can we save Bulgaria. It all depends on our joint effort. Let us honor the memory of the Apostle. Long live Bulgaria!", said President Radev.
